The Dolphin Team Saves The Swim Team From A Great White Shark!Posted: 09/11/2007 Dolphins have been known for many decades to be playful animals that seem to be fond for human company. Dolphins have also saved people from stressful situations. Below is just one of many cases where a dolphin has come to the aid of humans. Ron and three female lifeguards were doing their daily training about 100 yards from the coast of Whangarei New Rob found an opening in the circle and moved away from the group. Annoyed one of the larger dolphins started to come after him and that is when Rob saw the Great White Shark! The Shark came towards the women in the group which included Rob's fifteen year old daughter. The dolphins reacted by swimming more frantically moving up and down to where you couldn't tell what was human heads and what was fins and tails. A rescue boat approached the group and the shark left. However the dolphins remained next to the group as they swam back towards the beach. The entire time the Great White Shark never broke the surface of the water it remained below the swimmers and dolphins. Rob was so stunned by the whole experience he didn't tell any of the swimmers about the shark until the next day! Here are some known facts about Dolphins: All humans have a fatty layer of tissue beneath their skin so do dolphins and all ocean dwelling mammals. Dolphins and whales have a brain that is very similar to our brain. Research has shown dolphins lived on land at one time and had toes and fingers. These toes and fingers evolved into some seriously powerful flippers and tails. Dolphins show a very high level of intelligence and compassion . | ||||||
