The Cat Who Defied Fire! Posted: 05/01/2009
March 2006, firefighter David Giannelli arrived at the scene of a horrific fire blazing through a building in Brooklyn New York. While David and his team of firefighters were busy putting out the fire, he noticed a cat (who was latter name Scarlett) running into the building. Scarlett, with her eyes blistering, paws burnt, and coat singed ran through the fiery flames five times, pulling five kittens out of the fire. She placed them safely onto a sidewalk.
After the fire was put out, David took Scarlett and her five babies to an Animal Shelter for emergency care. One little kitten who had suffered extreme smoke inhalation died, but the other four kittens made it. Severely burnt and scarred, Scarlett made a full recovery.
Three months after Scarlett's Heroic rescue all four kittens, and Scarlett, were adopted by loving families.
