Little Dog to the Rescue!

In Canada the winter cold is brutal normal temperatures are anywhere between -29ﾰ to -39ﾰ.  On such a day in February the Andersons were at home with their dog Peeka.  All of a sudden Peeka started acting weird, running back and forth between her owners and the back door.  She focused on the back door while whining, scratching, and fussing.  The Anderson's ignored her, but after five minutes Ed Anderson finally opened the back door.  There on his porch wrapped in a bundle of blankets was a newborn baby!  

Ed and his wife immediately called the paramedics, who determined that the baby couldn't have been outside more than 15 minutes.  The baby was hypothermic and rushed to the hospital where it made a full recovery.

No trace of the baby's birth parents were ever found.  One thing is for certain; had Peeka not attracted the attention of her owners that day the baby would not have survived.
