An Irish Setter Hero

Clover enjoyed riding in her owner Marthaﾒs convertible.  On one of these quick errand runs, Martha put her six-week old son Tom in the back seat with Clover.  Susan, Marthaﾒs sixteen year old daughter who was prone to epilepsy seizures, sat up front. Once at the store Martha went in while Susan, Tom and Clover all stayed in the car.

When Martha came out of the store she could hear a thumping coming from her car and she saw smoke streaming out from the car windows. As Martha went running towards her car, she was hit by an oncoming car and knocked six feet off the pavement.  When she was able to get to her feet she heard the breaking of glass and watched as Clover broke through the back window of the car.  Clover then proceeded to go back into the car and grab Tom out by his diaper.  Bystanders rushed over to help Tom, Sandy and Martha.  That is when they noticed a cigarette burning on a cushion. Apparently, Sandy had been smoking when she had a seizure, and the cigarette had fallen from her hand.  

Luckily everyone was all right.  By breaking the car window Clover had saved everyone inside from smoke inhalation.  Although Clover did suffer from smoke inhalation and a minor head fracture from breaking the window she fully recovered and lived a long happy life.
